In this article, Utkin and Osipov discusses about cobra snakes venom. They say that the effect of cobra bites is mainly neurotoxic, cytotoxins, and phospholopases A2. These three types of toxins constitute a major part of cobra venom. However cobra venoms contain also many other less abundant components which possess very low toxicity or even are not toxic at all. They said that most of the time cobra venom is deadly if a person didn’t went to a hospital and get treated within forty five minutes.

In this article Feroze and Qureshi discusses about the protein in cobra snake and saw-scaled viper snake. They say that in Pakistan, most snake venom studies have been conducted regarding the general or intra-specific characteristics of venom of a particular snake species. But in the present study attempts which have been made to permit the comparison between the venom of these two crucial species of Pakistan, and they found out that cobra venom is the deadliest snake venom.

Janaka de Silva and her colleagues estimate that globally at least 421,000 envenomings and 20,000 deaths occur each year due to snakebite. And adds that the chances of dying from a venomous snakebite in the United States is nearly zero, because they have high-quality medical care in the U.S. Fewer than one in 37,500 people are bitten by venomous snakes in the U.S. each year, and only one in 50 million people would die from snakebite.

Ancient attitudes towards snakes are reviewed with the aim of confirming or eliminating one or more of these traditions as the likeliest cultural context for the snake sacrifices of Bahrain

Animals

A lot of people think of animals as just good looking creatures that were created just for looking, but not for me. I think that animals are the worlds most helpful creatures because without them humans won't survive at all. Animal are friendly creatures no matter what people say , if and only if they were raised properly. They are basically like little babies if you take care and teach them what is right from wrong, then they will grow up as a helpful animal. I used to love going to zoo when I was young and my favorite animal was the falcon. It had everything I wanted it is a smart, fast acting, and loyal animal. I ended up having one when I was at the age of nine, and it was beautiful and amazing pet. I fed it and took very good care of it until I gave it to one of my best friends.  I love the fact that those animals are smart. At times they a lee even smarter the people. Basically they know what is right and what is wrong. I think that people are brutal to animals and such people are without hearts. I think they should look at them the way I look at them and try to make this world a better place with animals. Most animals are like good friends such as cats, dogs, and monkeys. People need to find pets in order to feel the human-animal bonding. No matter what the animal is, even if it was snake.

The Effects of War: An Annotated Bibliography

This article is about a group of psychologist dealing with the post-traumatic stress disorder involving Viet Nam soldiers. It points out who these soldiers do not forget traumatic events, they just postpone dealing with it. For example, they talk about a soldier from World War II that began having nightmares 40 years after the war. He wanted to forget because it made him feel strong and he thought if he remembered he would be weak. This caused psychologist to understand that the main characteristics of PTSD which is to find ways to cope by avoiding the issue. What they determine is that these soldiers forget because they feel no one will listen.  However after some time they remember because something from the present makes them remember. By treating Vietnam  vets, psychologist help them learn ways of coping with PTSD.

In this article, author Patti Coleen Brown focuses on how post-traumatic disorder which affected more than half a million Vietnam veterans affects the vets an their families. She indicates that these soldiers enter the war at an immature age of about 19 and to deal with the horror of war, they desensitize their feeling and sees the enemy as non-human. However when they return home and reach a level of maturity, they begin to have conflicts with dealing with their environment and war. This causes them to  be abusive to their families, abuse drugs and isolate themselves from society.  To deal this problem the Veterans Administration (VA) began outreach programs that included individual and group sessions for families as well as rap groups for soldiers so they could talk to each other about this problem.
Decades later, many vets still had nightmares, flashbacks, depression and a number of issues, but  as brown points out the social has to make way to be prepared to deal with this problem and find ways to help soldiers and their families deal with it.

3. Park, Nansook “Military Children and Families: Strengths and Challenges during Peace and War.” American Psychologist.  ERIC. EBSCO. Web. 16 July 2011.
Author Nansook Park focus on how throughout history children and their parents have been resilient and able to adapt to their family being in the military. Challenges such s death, injury and multiple deployment can take its toll on these children. She mentions that more than 900,000 children have lost at least one parent and about 230,000 have lost both parents. Such challenges has proven too difficult for the children whose grief has practically gone unnoticed.  This has led to the need for mental health services to help children and their families deal with their grief and other challenges relating to the absence of a parent of spouse during war.

4. Costello, Miriam, and Others And. "Children and Military Conflict: Current Issues and Treatment Implications." School Counselor 41.3 (1994): 220-25. ERIC. EBSCO. Web. 16 July 2011.
This article points out that the way children cope with war depends on a number of issues, age, sex and family stability. Research shows when children feel strong levels of turmoil even though the conflict is in a distant country. The children perception of war is more traumatic than anything else in their lives. As they become mature, their fears about war decreases because they become more rational and informed. However they still feel a range of  emotions, anger, guilt and anxiety. The article suggest the children need a way to explore these feelings through support groups, journal writing and art.

Wars Responses

For every disease there is a cure. I think it will be a complete catastrophe if America continues war for eternity. It will not only make people hate Americans but also it will cause economy to shatter into pieces. It will separate family members from each other. I think nobody wants war. Its just another way for rich to become richer.
If the United States keeps on the path of war attacks will occur. Its basically a timing bomb thats about to blow up. Before Libya crises I've heard a business analysts says that all the people of this age will go back to ride horses and camels. He means that Libya which is known as the most fuel producer to the United states will fall.
I think the best way to choose if American should go to war or not is by letting the people of its country decide that. Not a bunch of rich people sitting behind a desk choosing what our lives should be. I myself am an anti-war person and I am against any person that thinks that to. The only possible way for war in my eyes as if we are going to help that country.

Plagiarism

How bad is it to say something which somebody else said and get credited for it? How much do you think you can say without getting caught? If you think you are the smartest, then there is always a person smarter than you.

Plagiarism is one act that all of the teachers hate no matter what kind it is. It's an unforgivable deed. They hate it because it's not your own own description. Why is it hard for a student to do the writing themselves? Its known that if any human brain puts the time and the well to do anything, they will conquer it easily. It is just a matter of practice. The best way to do a scavenger hunt is by going through all resources that are available. For example: books, Internet, and newspapers.

It is an easy fact just be creative with the writing. As my dad always says practice makes perfect. It's best best to keep practicing. Also its better to get a "C" grade on a paper assignment that you have done yourself than getting an "F" on Plagiarism.

Parenting style

In the world today, there are a number of family units which include single parents, same sex unions or the traditional family of husband and wife. No matter which structure one chooses if children are involved, they should be part of a loving and supportive family. While parenting styles vary, all of this system can have good parenting styles. Growing up in Dubai, I was part of the traditional family unit of husband and wife. For this reason, I feel that those parenting styles that include the father or a male figure provide the best for the child. However, the father or male must be a caring a supportive partner The father is important to the family structure because he can provide financial support, assist with the caretaking responsibilities, share in role modeling and provide a more stable environment for the children.
Although there are some cases where the single parent is male, in most cases the mother is the parent, and often she has at least two or three children to take care of by herself. This can put a tremendous strain on her if she has to take of the all the financial responsibilities, especially on just one source of income. The fixed expenses alone such as rent, utilities, phone and cable can consume most of a paycheck. Then other expenses such as groceries, clothing, and school supplies have to be included. If there is a father in the home, he can help reduce
Some of this financial burden and reduce some of the stress and tensions it brings to the mother. This will allow her to interact with the children in more positive way because children can sense when their parents are dealing with stressful issues. For this to work, both partners must be willing to combine their income, at least most of it, and work a budget to properly manage the money to make sure there is enough each month to go toward the monthly expenses. If they do this, they will probably have money left over for extras such as taking the children out to McDonalds, buying them special treats or just going on an outing as a family.
For some reason, fathers seem to be more willing to share in the expenses when they live in the household with their family than when they live outside the home even when mandated by the courts. This is probably because they feel more connected and part of the family when they live in the household. When men are single, they have their own individual expenses, the same as the mother and do not want to part with this money even if goes to their children. Not all fathers avoid taking care of their financial responsibilities when they are single or separated or divorced from their mate. Some may give an occasional sum of money to their children or send a check through the court system to keep from being arrested. When the mother has to constantly ask their ex’s for child support or push the child support system to action to collect the funds, it can create animosities between the two of them which can affect the children making them feel insecure or even responsible.
Single parents have to bear the responsibility of taking care of the family and the basic house hold responsibilities. A father or male figure can share in these responsibilities leaving time for the mother and father to share in the responsibilities of caring for the children’s emotional and physical needs. Sometimes fathers feel if they work all day, they should be able to come in sit in the big chair for the rest of the evening. However, by helping out both parents can have a chance to relax. Most times the female mate is considerate of the father’s hard work and will only ask for help with a few chores such as taking out the garbage, cutting the lawn or taking care of some household repair. Not only does this relieve some of the burden from the mother, it teaches the children responsibilities and is more willing to do whatever chores they have to do. The father could have older children help him do certain chores around the house to allow them to bond more closely. So, not only should the father assist with household duties, he should also help with caring for the children. Without a male figure in the home, the single parent has to take care of the basic needs of the children, which include medical when they are sick, helping with homework, soothing their fears in the middle of the night, taking them to school and extra fun events. If she is tired from taking care of the other responsibilities, having a father or male family member in the home to share in this important part of children’s lives can make them feel safe and provide a more stable environment. For some reason, children just seem to have more fun with their fathers on fun outings such as the park or a family picnic. Having the father in the home to share in different aspect of the parenting can assist the mother in serving as role models for the children by both of them through their own actions. This does not mean that couples are not going to have arguments, disagreements or even become angry with each other, but whenever these instances occur, they should try to solve them in a dignified way.
When it comes to taking care of children, there are a numerous parenting styles and family units that can be successful if the main goal is to foster a loving and supportive home for the children. However, a home with two loving parents, a mother and father, proves to be more beneficial to the children because they can combine their resources, income, emotional and physical strengths, their teaching talents and life experiences to care for and nurture their children.

Annotated Bibliography

1. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703959104576081873998873948.html
Parenting style is the most important factor that will effect the child life for the rest of his/her life. I made researches about some people responses to Amy Chau article. Few people agrees to her way, but the majority disagrees. In the first URL article, all 17 different nationality people have disagreed on Amy Chua's parenting style. And they all almost agree that there a time when each child has to decide whether to be ordinary in life or to be something more. Parents help you see that you can be extraordinary. I agree with this idea.

2. http://www.newsweek.com/2011/01/18/the-chinese-mom-backlash.html
The second URL article is about a 39-years-old Chinese women, has twin 8-year-old sons, and she disagrees on Amy Chua's style. She says "Many young Chinese lament there is no Bill Gates of China. Professors are embarrassed that no Chinese living on the mainland are Nobel laureates—except for dissident Liu Xiaobo, last year's Peace Prize winner, who happens to be in jail. And the most cutting-edge scientific institutions are research centers run by Western-educated administrators wooing Chinese-born scientists back from the West, where they had relocated in order to enjoy the more rewarding research environment abroad. If they had the money and the clout and the personal connections to do so, Chinese moms would want to send their kids to Harvard (as several top-level Chinese leaders have done). In other words, the key to success is seen as a hybrid of East and West—at least when viewed from the lair of the Tiger Moms." I totally agree and support her Idea.

3. http://www.quora.com/Parenting/Is-Amy-Chua-right-when-she-explains-Why-Chinese-Mothers-Are-Superior-in-an-op-ed-in-the-Wall-Street-Journal
The third URL article is about a Chinese women, has four sisters, and raised in America with a Chinese parenting style. She said "My big sister was what I used to jealously call "every Asian parent's wet dream come true" (excuse the crassness, but it really does sum up the resentment I used to feel towards her). She got straight As. Skipped 5th grade. Perfect SAT score. Varsity swim team. Student council. Advanced level piano. Harvard early admission. An international post with the Boston Consulting Group in Hong Kong before returning to the U.S. for her Harvard MBA. Six figure salary. Oracle. Peoplesoft. Got engaged to a PhD. Bought a home. Got married.
Her life summed up in one paragraph above.
Her death summed up in one paragraph below.
Committed suicide a month after her wedding at the age of 30 after hiding her depression for 2 years. She ran a plastic tube from the tailpipe of her car into the window. Sat there and died of carbon monoxide poisoning in the garage of her new home in San Francisco. Her husband found her after coming home from work. A post-it note stuck on the dashboard as her suicide note saying sorry and that she loved everyone." I think that sometimes in the way of Amy Chau's parenting, children will go through deep depression after the stress they had in their life.

4. http://www.littlepim.com/amy-chua-tiger-mom/
In the forth URL article is about a mother with one child. She says "At the end of the day, every parent has to choose a style of education and child rearing that works best for his or her family. These decisions are undoubtedly culturally influenced, but whatever we choose, the only certainty is that when our kids get older, they’ll turn around and tell us we should have done it differently!" I somehow agree with her opinion but its not necessary that every child will go to their parent and say ''you should have done it differently.'' Because I myself wont go to my parents and say such things. My parent raised me in a perfect way.

Tiger mothers

Every parent has their unique parenting style whether Chinese or Western or any other place. Parenting style should take a big role of the nature of the child, as well as the nature of the environment which surrounds the child.
'Tiger mothers' raise their kids in the harsh way because their kids need to survive in a highly populated country. And I think that Chinese mothers know that their children will have to compete with some 1 billion others when they grow up; therefore the way they love their children is different. Mothers give their children some skills and be an expert on it. Because of the situation their living on, that their way of loving. In addition, I think that if chines children were raised in western style they would be in trouble once they grow up.
Also, America wont be until today a powerful country if they had a bad parenting style. America has often excelled in innovation, management, design, and much more. I believe that American mother's give their children the chance to explore and develop their selves. I think while the Chinese children grow up to run governments that oppress minority of the society, American mother's raise their children to be self sacrificing, giving their time, money, and lives to help others.
In conclusion, there is no argument that working hard and smart is the key to achievement in life. As each child is different and have different talents and potential, ways of guiding each and encouraging their development must necessarily be different. It calls for sensitivity and love of the child. This one style fits all as advocated by Amy Chua is simply a reflection of her traditional style of parenting. The problem is that people always misjudge and blindly say that one way is better than the other.

Types of Writing

Writing has became essential in each human life. It is one of many ways that people use in order to communicate with each other. It began around 4100 BCE in Mesopotamia, but it began as symbols and small images that are carved in small blocks of clay. Back then, most of the writing was used to record events and keep track of things. Through out century, humans have developed writing to various kinds of letters and several types of use. Basically writing is the expression of the mind of writers, and most of the writers come from personal experience or inner feelings. There are two types of writing; formal writing and informal writing. Both types are almost used daily in our lives. I think both writing are correct but its a matter of when to use it.
First of all, almost all Formal writing follows a certine format and style which is MLA or APA. Essays, reasach papers, speech papers, and summary papers all should be written in a formal style. In formal writing you should avoid expressions, contractions, clichés, and abbreviated words. Passive voice and more complex sentences are prefferred. In some cases for e-mails and birthday cards, they should follow either Formal or Informal writing depending on how close the person is to you. If he/she is close to you so informal writing will be fine and vice versa.
Second, Informal writings doesn't follow any certine format. We use Informal writing almost every day to our lives. Notes, comments, text messages, and online chatting are informal writing. They may use expressions, contractions, clichés, abbreviated words, short and simple sentence. Mostly Informal writing is used between you and your family or friends. I do not see anything wrong with this, in fact I see it helpful because it save time.
In conclusion, basically there are two different types of writing; Formal and Informal. The main thing is to remember that both are correct. Formal English is used mainly in academic writing and business communications, whereas Informal English is appropriate way to communicate with family and friends. Keep in mind that you are writing to whom so you can make the right decisions. And whichever style you write make sure you do not mix between the two.
